Craven Cancer Classic
There are many hardships that come with battling cancer. Through the Annual Craven Cancer Classic golf tournament fundraising event, all of the dollars raised stay local, and go directly to the Scott Davenport / Brian Fisher / John Aylward Cancer Warrior Fund at the CarolinaEast Foundation. This fund helps cancer patients with various financial burdens associated with their treatment, and assists eligible patients with care-related costs such as transportation, medical equipment, nutritional supplements, prosthetics, and lodging for themselves or family members during out-of-town treatment.
Last year's tournament raised over $34,000, through the generosity of sponsors, players, volunteers, and many donations. Please join us and be a part of this opportunity to remember and support our loved ones.
The seventh annual Craven Cancer Classic will be held Friday, October 21st, 2016. For more information, please visit the Craven Cancer Classic website

Breakfast With Santa
2016 Breakfast with Santa Sponsors
2017 Breakfast with Santa Reservation will open October 1st 2017.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The CarolinaEast Foundation’s Breakfast with Santa occurs on the first Saturday in December, and not only serves as an important annual fundraising event for the Foundation, but also a fun-filled seasonal celebration for the children and families of our community.
All aboard! The Polar Express came to life during CarolinaEast Foundation's 2015 Breakfast with Santa at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center. The event raised over $56,000 that will go back into the local community for unmet health care needs. The children and their parents climbed aboard as the conductor and his assistant elf punched the ticket of each of the passengers. Before arriving at the North Pole, the Polar Express book was read, followed by the waiters and chef, who passed out hot chocolate mix for all the children to take home. Upon their return, helpful elves were standing by to assist over 1000 attendees with holiday crafts, letters to Santa, cookie decorating, bead making, pictures with Santa, Storytime with Mrs. Claus, and the “Under the Tree” kids-only gift shop. Afterwards, Santa listened attentively as each child shared their wish lists, and had a picture taken with them in their holiday outfits. Adults and children alike enjoyed a marvelous breakfast buffet.
This year’s holiday fundraising event was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, including CarolinaEast Health System, BSH Home Appliances, Danis Construction, Wells Fargo Private Bank and Champ & ET Mitchell, along with many other caring businesses and individuals. There were a total of 5 seatings, with 597 adults, 508 children. The last seating was reserved for children and their families with a deployed parent from Cherry Point Air Station, critically ill children, and special needs families, who were all fully sponsored.
A heartfelt thanks also goes out to all of our amazing volunteers, who helped the Foundation put this event together:
- CarolinaEast Health System Employees, Foundation Board Members, West Craven High School National Honor Society, as well as family and friends, who helped set up and worked the various stations.
- The families of the Epiphany School of Global Studies, who made gingerbread houses for each table, and assisted with the Polar Express.
- The Craven County Extension’s Sewing Guild, who made handcrafted ornaments for each child to take home.
- Lowe’s of New Bern and Branch's Furniture.
- A special thank you goes out, of course, to Santa and Mrs. Claus!
The next Breakfast with Santa will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017. Click here to make reservations: Breakfast with Santa Reservations
