Patient Assistance Program
We all know that an illness or health-related condition can cause a heavy financial burden on patients and their family members, not to mention the emotional stress. At the heart of our mission here at the CarolinaEast Foundation is a commitment to helping patients in need, those members of our community who require extra or exceptional care. One of the many ways we do this is through our Patient Assistance Program. This program assists patients and family members with a variety of medical needs, such as gas cards for transportation to and from treatment, prescription medications, as well as medical supplies and equipment. These patients are referred to us through their professional providers. We depend on those professionals to verify financial need and to also be our liaison with the patients and their families.
Provider Application Process
Each professional provider must come to a patient assistance roundtable that is offered twice a year to learn about the program before they are able to submit requests. These will be offered approximately every 6 months. The goal of these roundtables is to establish a partnership of trust and understanding of the program.
